It forms part of the nationwide network of rehabilitation support services provided by the Brain Injury Rehabilitation Trust. Fen House offers accommodation for 25 adults incorporating an assessment and rehabilitation service, a continuing rehabilitation facility and a self-contained flat. Rehabilitation programmes take place in a modern, specialised setting with access to a wide range of therapeutic and recreational activities including daily living skills (eg laundry, cookery/food preparation, money management, computer skills). There is also a dedicated music area and art therapy room. The clinical team at Fen House is led by a Consultant in Neuropsychology and Rehabilitation and comprises professionals from a wide range of disciplines, including clinical psychology, speech and language therapy, physiotherapy, occupational therapy and a team of rehabilitation support workers. The rehabilitation model at Fen House is based on the neurobehavioural approach and focuses on enabling service users to function as independently as possible, develop their lives as they choose and to participate in as many of their previous roles and activities as possible.

Typical duration that a service is offered
When a service user is admitted to Fen House they undergo a 12 week neurobehavioural assessment to determine their potential for social integration and increased independence. After this, a formal course of rehabilitation may be agreed, and the duration of this will depend very much on an individual's needs and progress.This Service was mapped by Eastern Region ABI.
