We always support our customers to maintain skills and achieve in order for them to retain independence. We liaise with a range of housing associations regarding adaptations and repairs. We have re-housed many service users to more suitable accommodation. Care packages are fully supported with permanent support workers ensuring consistency in our approach at all times. All Service users have a house file with all information such as how to complain, how to contact the office, what to do if your carer doesn£t arrive together with client notes that are completed at the end of each call.
We hold minimum quarterly team meetings for each service user group. Carry out 8 weekly staff supervisions, and appraisals and regular spot checks, all of which contribute to our excellent service.
Music Therapy is another service that we provide. Music Therapy is the use of sounds and music within an evolving relationship between client and therapist to support and encourage emotional, social and physical well-being. Music Therapy can offer a positive, creative medium for people facing challenges in their lives. By establishing a relationship through music, the client can experience and explore new ways of relating, leading to development and change. Music Therapists are skilled musicians who have been trained to use improvisation to draw others into shared music making, engaging a person's innate creativity and working with difficulties affecting their well-being. As Music Therapy relies on natural human responsiveness to sounds and music, it is not necessary for clients to have any music skills or abilities. It is therefore important to note that the aims of music therapy are not recreational, but are concerned with therapeutic change and growth. The fee per one-to-one session is £35, and sessions are usually held weekly. The Music Therapist will visit your home, school, care home, hospice, day care centre, or sessions can take place in our music therapy room. A full range of instruments is provided.
