Bristol Road is a specialist residential continuing rehabilitation centre for adults with acquired brain injury. It forms part of the nationwide network of rehabilitation support services provided by the Brain Injury Rehabilitation Trust. Bristol Road works with people who have a range of cognitive, physical and/or emotional symptoms following an acquired brain injury. Service users at Bristol Road will normally have already experienced a period of intensive rehabiitation prior to admission. Bristol Road offers a modern and superbly equipped setting, comprising 7 en suite bedrooms and 1 independent living flat, plus a range of communal areas for dining, relaxation and therapy. Bristol Road is led by a Consultant in Neuropsychology and Rehabilitation and Service Manager, who are supported by a team of specially trained rehabilitation support workers. Rehabilitation takes place in modern specialised settings with access to a wide range of therapeutic and recreational activities including daily living skills (eg laundry, cookery/food preparation, money management, computer skills). All service users take part in an individualised ongoing treatment programme. This includes learning and therapeutic sessions, personal, social and domestic skills, guided leisure time, community access, behavioural management and vocational training and support.Services available
